Between the Balkans and Middle East, American songbooks & India, Agona's music blends a rich and diverse mixture of sounds and cultures through an original voice and interpretation. Each of the pieces are journeys of their own, which however form a harmonious and enchanting whole.
Agona, born in Prizren has been drawn to jazz since a very young age. After attending a summer program in Berklee College of Music she has been very active in Kosovo’s jazz scene. She resumed her studies at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, where she graduated in May '17. One of her notable mentors is the renowned tabla player Samir Chatterjee, with whom she continues her studies of Indian Classical Music.
